Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center (HSDC)

WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO

Incorporated in 1937, the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center is Seattle / King County’s only private, non-profit agency providing children and adults with a comprehensive range of hearing and speech services.  Our mission is to strengthen community by promoting effective communication for adults and children who experience hearing loss, speech and language challenges, or who are deaf, by providing community awareness and accessibility. Over half of the Center’s clients are low-income families or individuals (as defined by federal income standards).  Our Uncompensated Care Fund provides free or reduced cost services to low-income individuals. We are the only community resource low-income families or individuals have for communication-focused medical care, including hearing aids and other assistive technology that make it possible for people to secure employment, an education, and other basic needs.
